What setting up a restaurant takes

Signing up creates your restaurant on OotaOS and starts a 14-day trial on the plan you pick. No card is needed to begin, and nothing is charged during the trial.

Setup asks only for what the platform needs to behave correctly from the first order: the restaurant's name and country, which sets the currency, the tax label and the payment options; contact details for the owner account; and the plan to trial. Once the account exists you can scan or type in the menu, print QR codes for the tables, and put a test order across the kitchen display in the same sitting.

Staff come next, with a role each — owner, manager, kitchen, waiter, front of house, cashier — so people see the screens their job needs and nothing else. None of it has to be finished in one sitting: an account with a half-built menu still works, and the trial clock is the same whether a restaurant sets everything up on day one or spreads it across the fortnight.
